Fire in The Sky - Sunrise On The Lake - SOLD
SOLD
How appropriate that the sunrise this morning was on FIRE! It was beautiful shades of orange, red, and pinks! It was cold...but pretty!
I manipulated the inks before they completely dried to get the look of trees in the background. It looks like an early morning sunrise on the lake.

Baxter Pet Portriat Steps in Progress
Baxter is the cutest name for this adorable little Chocolate Labrador!
Step 1 - First a few light washes
Next I like to start on the eyes, they make the painting!
Now it's time for more shading.
Once I get the shading in I felt it needed more highlights.
You can remove watercolor paint by lifting it out with clean water and a brush.
Some final detailing and whiskers (I used white gouache for them).

"Butterfly Kisses" Day 23
So I was a bit over zealous thinking I could paint for 25 days straight right before Christmas! I've had to pull the last paintings out of my archive. Yep...I'm a cheater! :)
I did list all my days on my Kellie Lynn Art facebook page, but just couldn't seem to get them all on my blog as well. So if you are curious, feel free to head over to my facebook page to check them out!

" Miracle Millie"- Pet Commission Painting in Watercolor
Finding my newest passion in painting Pet Portraits most dogs and it comes at the perfect time for me. We had to put down our loving dog and family member Kota (Black Lab) of 16 years. I understand how much our pets mean to us and painting them has been wonderful therapy for me.

Ripple To Wave - Ink Painting
"Ripple To Wave"
Our Dog of 16 years, Kota has come to a point where a decision needs to be made. It started off as a ripple, she had a hard time walking and developed a number of masses. The past week she has deteriorated. The crest of the wave is now here, it's big and scary.
We know she had a wonderful life but it's so hard making the call to let her go.
Once the wave has past....a calm will appear.

Crafts Fair and Daily Paintings
Had a great week, somehow managed to fit in 3 craft fairs, finish my daily paintings, and work on some pet commission painting for the holiday! I have 2 down and 3 more to go!
This is my first chance to post on my blog for a few days, so here are my three paintings I missed for the holiday special.
I don't think I'll attempt the daily paintings right before the holidays again next year...it's been a little overwhelming.
My dog portrait requests have taken off this year as well...I'm super happy about that. I really enjoy capturing our little family members. Currently I have 3 that I"m trying to finish before the holidays....they are gifts, so I'll have to post them at a later date.

Warm Glow Rocky Coast Maine
Day 10 of my painting challenge - 15 more days to go!
Just before the sunrises....a beautiful warm glow is cast over the rocky shoreline of Maine.
One of my favorite things to do with my husband and son...is to get up really early before the sun rises and watch the magnificent FREE GIFT that mother nature has to offer us every morning.
As humans we tend to always be looking for that WOW factor and we pay a lot of money for it most of the time, and then the moment is gone.
There are a lot of FREE BEAUTIFUL things life has to offer us.
Hope you get the chance to be in the moment today!

Baxter State Park New England Morning - Picture it
Baxter state park in the morning....No, I'm not there but sure wish I could be. Could you imagine having a log cabin right here on the water? Wonder if anyone would ever take that view for granted?
Our family has been watching the show on Netflix called "Alaska the last frontier" from the Discovery Channel. They live on a Homestead...and it's a hard but rewarding life. It's been really interesting watching how they live. I could see myself doing some of it....but I'm a creature of comfort.
I can picture myself in a little log cabin with a fireplace...but I'd need WiFi and a few more necessities to make it work for me!

Harpwell, Maine Yellow Sky Reflection
Guess what...it's back to watercolor today! I missed watercolors! Seascapes are my go to painting...they are just straight up FUN to do! This beautiful scene is of Harpswell, Maine.
The sky is a vibrant yellow with the warm reflection casting itself over the outgoing tide. You can see Joe's Island, the small island in the middle.
*Special thanks to Benjamin Williamson for the Reference Photo!

Bold Colors With A Negative Look
Playing with Negative and reverse images the other day on my camera and so I decided to try a landscape picture today with a different approach. The effect was almost a cast shadow of where the trees might have been. The bold pop of pink, red, and purples are very stunning!
I named this one Earthly Glow, I think it has a very spiritual feel.

Commission Pet Portriats (Price Structure)
I paint from photographs so the key to a great painting...is a great photograph! Natural lighting (prefer having it taken outside). Close-up of the eyes and fur color help me capture he/she the best.
"Libbe Belle"
8x8 Watercolor
Here are a few steps of my progress along the way.
Working on the eyes here...I spend a lot of time on them.
Most of the main pieces are in place...now for the details.
This is the original photograph I used... and it's a great example of a great photo!
The lighting is great (outside natural)...eye's are clear, and I can see her fur and coloring well.
Not to mention her expression is priceless!
Here is my pricing structure:
8 x 8 = $125
8 x 10 =$155
10 x 10 =$210
12 x 12 =$305
11 x 14 =$325
18 x 14 =$650
16 x 20 =$800
Sunset Alaska Icebergs
Impressionistic....Imagine yourself on a cruise out in the middle of Alaska, what an incredible site it would be to see this large iceberg/glacier at sunset...The blue of the ice so clear and illuminating with the warmth of the sunset above. Of course I think this can only happen in my mind...because in real life I would think the ice would reflect the same colors as the sky?
So I googled Alaska icebergs sunsets...and found a few pictures that could pass! Although they may have been adjusted in Photoshop?
