Challenge accepted ~ Re-creating an Oil Painting with Watercolors!

I had a lot of fun attempting to re-create my original Oil painting from last week with watercolors!

The biggest difference and challenge for me re-creating with watercolors/gouache would be the details in the rocks.

The original Oil painting rocks were created using a palette knife and I was able to get a lot of
depth with the using black, but with watercolors it was duller an needed more details, so I added the
yellow ochre, and Titanium white (gouache) and worked in some dry brushing.

What A Hoot - ing Good Time Painting With Kids!

Art Class

I had the honor of Painting and instructing this week during school vacation with the Town of Gray-Parks & Recreation for a second time! We painted these adorable yellow owls with Acrylics on a 16x20" Canvas. Each painting has it's own unique and special feel - LOVE THEM!

Such an amazing group of kids, very polite, really great listeners, and terrific artists to boot. I can remember how hard it was for me at that young age to focus, so for them to focus on my Art instructions for almost 2 hours, wow - they did and incredible job!!! 

The kids are a HOOT and they told me many fun facts about owls - they even did an owl clay craft that morning before I got there in preparation, I wish I had taken a picture.

Thank you all for having me back! I'm looking forward to painting again with you all.

Girlfriend Getaway Weekend  in Freeport Maine in June!

We've secured a amazing night of painting with well know Maine Artist and Instructor Kellie Chasse for a night of creativity and Fun!  Kellie will take you through all the painting steps and she promises you'll be amazed at your inner artist! We'll be painting a quintessential Maine scene of a summer birch tree along the waterfront.

All supplies are included.  The painting will be completed on a large 16x20" canvas using acrylic paints. We'll have some delicious appetizers to snack on while you paint.

Come join the fun! The Kendall Tavern Inn is offering over night accommodations if you need a beautiful and homey place to stay! You can find more information on their website.

All supplies are included for $40 or bring your own supplies and pay only $30!

9x18" Tiles will  be available to purchase for $3.

SUPPLY LIST
 Most supplies can be shared. Craftmania offers a 10% discount for items purchased for the class.
Please let them know before ringing items up.

Alcohol Inks (at least 3 colors or more) Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink

Blending solution
91% Isopropyl Alcohol (for cleaning tiles and brushes)
2 or 3 brushes (small, Med, Large)
Paper Towels
Old cookie sheet or tin foil (for tile)
Small container for alcohol
Paint pallet or small mixing tray
Q-tips
Gloves to protect hand from ink
Black Acrylic Paint (to paint edges)
Karmar Acrylic Clear Spray (To Seal tile when complete) you can wait to do this at home.

(Make sure to wear older clothes or an apron as the inks do stain)
