Learn to how to Create these super cute Art trays with eggs shells and Mosaic patterns

I am super excited to share with you all that this weeks TUESDAY VIDEO is a wonderful collaboration with an incredible artist and friend Jane Monteith! 

First we will be covering this really fun DIY Tray project using Alcohol Ink Techniques with Egg Shells along with some Art Resin. It's a really fun and easy project that creates such cheerful spring looking results. 

First we attached the egg shells with a spray glue, then tinted them using Jacquard Alcohol Inks by Pinata. Once that is dry a clear coat of Art Resin was used. Above is the finished piece, but make sure to check out the full process on my Youtube Channel.

Then you get a second project (WHAT?? YESssss) Two for one, I know. 

Jane will then show us how to create a beautiful Mosaic tray using Yupo paper and Art Resin. She will show you how to use Rubber Cement to create some wonderful textures on the Yupo paper!

What is yupo paper? I know....I kept hearing about it but wasn't really sure what it was until now. I found it the best to use alcohol inks on. It's the only paper that doesn't absorb or allow the inks to dry too quickly.

Description

A synthetic paper is born. And it is a watercolor paper that repels water. Yupo gives visual artists an amazingly beautiful canvas to work with. Its smooth, bright white finish gives artists a medium that always goes big.

Painting on the slick surface of Yupo is different than regular watercolor paper and requires some adjustments. The artist can wipe back to regain the white of the paper, making it an excellent surface for beginning watercolorists. Or it can also be a very exciting paper for more advanced and experimental artists.

Yupo - a slick, smooth, nonabsorbent paper that dramatically changes the way you paint. Using this sheet, you can capture nuances, patterns, and shapes that previously escaped you.

What makes it even more unique is its lifting quality. You may return when a painting is done and redo it again and again. You can build up layers of paint, like an oil painter, and then take them off to reveal the white of the paper, like a watercolorist. Working with Yupo brings you a new passion for its infinite possibilities.

Yupo is a space age material made in a space age paper mill. The raw materials arrive by rail and are loaded into their respective silos and hoppers for their eventual transformation into pellets. These pellets are then fed into the patented heating and extruding equipment.

The base and surface layers are formed during the extruding process, and these three layers are stretched to create a dimensionally stable, biaxial-oriented substrate. The innumerable micro-voids created through this process give Yupo its superior strength, opacity and ultra-smooth surface finish. Every phase of the manufacturing process is computer controlled and closely monitored to ensure adherence to what many acknowledge to be the most stringent quality standards in the industry.
