Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 12

"Harvest Moon"
Alcohol Ink Painting
8x10 Mat - $65

Did any of you see the Harvest Moon the other night? I was teaching a watercolor Paint Night Class at the Sea Dog Brewery in Topsham Maine and the moon was shining directly into the window over looking the river. The reflection was incredible!

For this painting I used Snowcap then added the blue on top to give it that overcast effect.

I'm in the process of hanging my work at Gallery 11

Tonight I'm looking forward to the Art Walk in Brunswick, Maine.
If you are local, stop in at Gallery 11 at Pleasant to view my work and a number of incredible photographers and artists, including my friend Debby Stubbs.

Maine River Rocks - Moving along slowly

Expressing my love of color on this one!
It's almost finished.

Haven't had much time to paint lately it's been a busy week. Had a number of workshops lined up and they are continuing through this week, but I just love my workshops!

Also getting ready for my Art to be displayed at the Highlands in Topsham from June-August, so I've been busy framing my some of my work.

Got to get back to work!

Happy Painting ~ Kellie

Maine River Rocks - Getting Ready For An Art Show!

Getting ready for an Art Show coming up in June. I am working on a rock series. This one is a larger 22x30 on aquabord with my favorite 2" Wood cradle. These are great for me, no matting or framing required!

Maine River Rocks - 8x8" On clayboard

 Maine River Rocks

My first step was to transfer my drawing to the Clayboard then I layered a first wash on the rocks. Had fun with the different colors.

After the first wash of colors were down I added in a few more layers of glazes and added some texture.

Last step was to paint in the dark background and then add a water wash over the top with white goauche to give them an appearance of being underwater.
