Alcohol Ink Art Birch Tree Painting on Tile Tutorial

This weeks Alcohol Ink demo is what I like to call my moody birch tree on a tile.
This Alcohol Ink Art Birch Tree Painting on Tile Tutorial is super Fast and Easy, seriously a 5 minute Alcohol ink painting using jacquard pinata inks on tiles.
I will go over a quick wet in wet background then we'll add some dancing silver mixative to create a sparkling Moon and reflection on the water.

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 25 "Moonlight"

"Moonlight"
Alcohol Ink on Tile

Alcohol Ink on Tile is just as fun as Yupo and less expense.
It's a great medium to start with if you decide to try alcohol Inks.

I  used a small glossy white tile, 4 colors of ink, one small paint brush, and a white gel pen
to complete this one.

Ink Colors:
Stream
Shell Pink

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day Twenty One

 "Summer Moonlight"

Still working on a creating a few new painting scenes for the Watercolor Paint Nights, and since folks on facebook seemed to really like the Ominous Moon that was created last fall, it seemed like a good one to try!

SOLD - Thirty Paintings in 30 Day - Day Four

"Whispering Moon"
SOLD

11x14" Alcohol Ink on Liquid board

Here is  a picture of the first layer of resin drying, a second coat will be placed on it today. I love the sheen that it gives. I worked with the metallic silver ink adding the pigment to the resin on top so that it gives the piece even more depth. The silver moon looks as though it's floating, giving it a 3D effect.

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 12

"Harvest Moon"
Alcohol Ink Painting
8x10 Mat - $65

Did any of you see the Harvest Moon the other night? I was teaching a watercolor Paint Night Class at the Sea Dog Brewery in Topsham Maine and the moon was shining directly into the window over looking the river. The reflection was incredible!

For this painting I used Snowcap then added the blue on top to give it that overcast effect.

I'm in the process of hanging my work at Gallery 11

Tonight I'm looking forward to the Art Walk in Brunswick, Maine.
If you are local, stop in at Gallery 11 at Pleasant to view my work and a number of incredible photographers and artists, including my friend Debby Stubbs.

"Summer Moonlight" Ominous Moon Oil Painting

Sometimes the moon can look a bit ominous and therefore it makes people think "scary" so with my painting I wanted to make it a warmer happy feeling so I added some lighter and rich tones of purples and yellows.

"Summer Moonlight" 22x28 Oil Painting

I loved the background so much I was tempted to stop here!

 Photo reference

The other night I was out with my dog Primm for her last outing just before bedtime and when I stepped outside the door I found this! The moon was so bright and inspiring,  I had to run back inside and grab my camera! Managed to snap this shot just in time before the clouds covered it fully!

Daily Painting # 28 Moonlight Path - 5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

 "Moonlight Path"

5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

Day 28/30 of our Daily Painting Challenge.

I had a hard time thinking about what to paint today, so instead of spending anymore time on "thinking it over", I opted to paint THE PATH again only a smaller version of it and without the moon in the view.  Only 2 more days left in the challenge! Hope tomorrow my creative side decides to kick back in! :)

"Looking Up" 5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

  "Looking Up"

5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

Day 27/30 of our Daily Painting Challenge.

A different perspective on yesterday's painting "THE PATH".  This one is looking straight up through the trees looking at the  moon and the stars in the night sky. I can picture myself laying on the ground just staring up into the night...dreaming. Can't do that right now though...it's freezing out there!

Only 3 more days in the challenge...how is everyone doing? I'm struggling now...ready to do a more detailed painting.

Happy Monday everyone - hope you all have a great week!
