"Summer Moonlight" Ominous Moon Oil Painting

Sometimes the moon can look a bit ominous and therefore it makes people think "scary" so with my painting I wanted to make it a warmer happy feeling so I added some lighter and rich tones of purples and yellows.

"Summer Moonlight" 22x28 Oil Painting

I loved the background so much I was tempted to stop here!

 Photo reference

The other night I was out with my dog Primm for her last outing just before bedtime and when I stepped outside the door I found this! The moon was so bright and inspiring,  I had to run back inside and grab my camera! Managed to snap this shot just in time before the clouds covered it fully!

Harpwell, Maine Yellow Sky Reflection

Guess what...it's back to watercolor today! I missed watercolors! Seascapes are my go to painting...they are just straight up FUN to do!  This beautiful scene is of Harpswell, Maine.

The sky is a vibrant yellow with the warm reflection casting itself over the outgoing tide. You can see Joe's Island, the small island in the middle.

*Special thanks to Benjamin Williamson for the Reference Photo!
Take your home décor to the shore with this Coastal Harpswell, Maine Original Watercolor, ready to frame! With warm ocean hues of yellow, blue and beige, and black. This art piece would showcase wonderful in a black or white frame.

Everyone Loves A Sunset

The snow is coming down outside my window this morning and it's breathtaking, but I'm a total winter windower! Meaning, I don't like to go out in the cold, but rather look at it's frozen beauty from on the other side of the window... from inside my nice and toasty home that is.

The sunset's have been beautiful lately and this ink painting was inspired by the bright red/orange and purple one I saw just the other evening. It was cold and the water behind our house has just started to freeze around the edges.

Sailors Delight - Acrylic on Stretched Canvas

Red skies at night...sailors delight...if you have ever sailed you may remember that one.
Another abstract with acrylics today.

The size is 16x20 and the sides have been painted to match the flow of the painting.

Kept debating if I wanted to add some distant islands or rocks, but I'm going to sit on it for a little while...and ponder.

Daily Painting #37 - Northern Lights Watercolor

   "Northern Lights"

  5 x 7 Watercolor/Gouache on 140 Arches Cold Press

It's Daily Painting #37 for this year! So hard to believe I've accomplished that many so far and it's only February 27th. Let's hope I can stay motivated and continue the trend!

It's a long haul from my 30 day challenge were I completed a  painting a day, but at least I am painting each day! I've been working on a few bigger pieces that you may have seen if you follow me on the Kellie Lynn Art Facebook Page

Today's continuing work is of a leaf in the water. When I was first sent the picture from Valerie (thank you), I thought how pretty it was. Valerie sent it to me via email thinking that I may be interested in painting it...and I was like - OH YAY! Now, um....not so much! It's a lot of frig-in details!

That being said, it is a really good challenge for me. My eyes are going a bit crossed, but I think the end result will be beautiful. Stop over to check it out if you have the chance!

Happy Painting
~Kellie

Daily Painting # 28 Moonlight Path - 5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

 "Moonlight Path"

5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

Day 28/30 of our Daily Painting Challenge.

I had a hard time thinking about what to paint today, so instead of spending anymore time on "thinking it over", I opted to paint THE PATH again only a smaller version of it and without the moon in the view.  Only 2 more days left in the challenge! Hope tomorrow my creative side decides to kick back in! :)

"Looking Up" 5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

  "Looking Up"

5x7 Watercolor/Gouache

Day 27/30 of our Daily Painting Challenge.

A different perspective on yesterday's painting "THE PATH".  This one is looking straight up through the trees looking at the  moon and the stars in the night sky. I can picture myself laying on the ground just staring up into the night...dreaming. Can't do that right now though...it's freezing out there!

Only 3 more days in the challenge...how is everyone doing? I'm struggling now...ready to do a more detailed painting.

Happy Monday everyone - hope you all have a great week!

Day 26 Of Daily Painting Challenge "THE PATH" 8x10 - SOLD

  "The Path"

SOLD

8x10 Watercolor/Gouache/Ink

Day 26/30 of our Daily Painting Challenge.

Looking up through the trees at night make you realize that the world is such a big place, it is so breathe taking and magical! My favorite place to star gaze is at our family camp in Northern Maine. We are miles away from the lights of the city and the stars just are AMAZING! So I hope you take the time out of your busy schedules and look up at the sky tonight and know that there are amazing things out there! Have a great night my friends!

"RED SKY AT NIGHT" Sunset Watercolor

"RED SKY AT NIGHT"

Day 8 of the 30 Day Painting Challenge.

Captured a beautiful picture of a red sunset the other night while driving home on Pleasant Hill Road, in Brunswick Maine. For some reason nature just blesses this area with the most incredible sky colors! Whether it is the morning or evening, sunny or wet, summer or winter....it is just beautiful here. That is one of the reasons Larry and I (when we ran) would chose this path! It was such an anticipation for us.....what would nature show us just around the corner. We would wait for the break in the trees and then WOW the view!
