Thirty Paintings In 30 Days - Day 10

Finding peace and balance in life is an on going task - my thoughts for today.

11x14" Oil on Canvas Board
$225

I have been married for 16 years now to an amazing, wonderful man, that allows me to trash the house with all my mats, paintings, paints (oils, Inks, and watercolors), boxes, cards, easels....the list goes on! I woke up this morning realizing that after working over the weekend that not only was the house a mess, but the laundry didn't do itself and everyone is out of socks! Anyone else feeling my disheveled mood?

So I'm viewing my wonderful photo...thinking okay don't think about all the "STUFF" that you need to do, look at the photo - feel it, paint it, and then you can clean  up the mess!

Okay, so here I go....wow what a wonderful day this was, this picture below was snapped from the front porch of the Driftwood Inn, on Bailey Island, Maine - the day I was married.  On this day I remember looking out over the view and thinking about the rest of my life - I felt wonderful about the direction I was taking!

As I study the picture before painting, I see the person down below looking out at the crashing waves and I wonder..... what  is he or she thinking on this same day?

It's funny as I'm painting, I love the calmness of the clouds, the softness of the blue sky, but yet there is a roughness in the seas and I noticed the strong lines in the rocks and coastal shore. The light is bouncing off the sea and sparkling away and I think of a little girl (me at 6 years old) with her hot pink sequined sparkling too-to singing out loud at the top of my lungs....."Like A Rhinestone Cowboy". Ner Ner...(me playing the air guitar)...and that's were I get the inspiration.

Life is not always as rough as it seems - choose to look at the good stuff, not just the rough sea's, but the calmness, your special moments, look at your strength, your rock, and don't forget what makes you sparkle?

Find your peace and balance in this crazy world.

Thirty Paintings In 30 Days - Day 4 - Anniversary Day!

7x7" Art Tile Keepsake Box
$125

Day 4 is Anniversary Day!

I feel thoroughly blessed to have such a wonderful husband and life. 16 years ago today, we were married on the front porch of the Driftwood Inn on Bailey Island, Maine overlooking the ocean.

The sun was setting and the waves were crashing below us, it was quite dreamy really.

This was our view off the porch right before the wedding.

I want to Thank Larry for giving me a wonderful 16 years and supporting my passion and love of painting. I am one lucky woman and look forward to spending the rest of my life with him!

Last Cribstone Bridge - Bailey Island, Maine

Bailey Island, Maine "The Cribstone Bridge"
24x36" Oil on Stretched Canvas Painting
$1200.00

Here's what on my easel today - it's in the process of drying. I was going for a more impressionistic take....I wanted the painting to have a looser feel or as my Mom would say "Mr. Clean" look. I tried not to get to detailed, but that is always a challenge for me. Even the houses are simple in the background.

You can find some information about the bridge here
"A sidewalk was added in 1951 and guard rails in 1961. On July 19, 1984 the Bailey Island Bridge was recognized as a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The Bailey Island Bridge is reported to be the only granite cribstone bridge in the world."

Cooks Lobster House Maine Art Exhibit

 "SLICE OF BLUEBERRY HEAVEN"

Looking forward to putting up my Art Exhibit  at Cooks Lobster House , on Bailey Island Maine this weekend for the month of September! I was really excited to read that Cooks Lobster House was in OPRAH's O Magazine , for 2013's Summer Fun Things To Do in July, how cool is that!
Thought the Blueberry Pie Slice would be a good one for there! Maine's blueberry pie...hmmm, wonder if they are serving it at Cooks this weekend? I may have to eat the real thing if they do...even if I am trying to eat healthy (That's no fun).

Stop on in if you have the chance - they have some great food and have you all see that GIANT LOBSTER there? It's a Hoot!
Don't forget to find me on Facebook or sign up for my blog post via email!

Mackerel Cove, Bailey Island, Maine

Mackerel Cove, Baily Island Maine

Headed out to Cooks Lobster House the other day to bring in some of  my prints to sell in their Gift Shop. The day was a bit foggy so I put my own color spin on what a colorful sunset would look like!

This original painting in on museum quality Aquabord and has a 2" wooden cradle, so it's ready to hang! Think I've mentioned before that I love Aquabord for this reason!

This painting will be up at the Highlands in Topsham Maine from June through August, so feel free to stop by and view it in person.

One on One Watercolor Painting Session with Kellie Lynn Art

 KELLIE LYNN ART SESSION

Jen saw my piece on  THE GIANT STAIRCASE and wanted to do something on a smaller scale since Bailey Island was very close to her heart.

We set up an appointment to paint one on one this past Saturday and I want to thank her for letting me video tape our painting session. She was such a sport about it!

My husband Larry purchased me a new Nikon camera recently and it has High definition recording on it so I have been just waiting to try it out! Oh, not to mention he hooked me up with a full studio lightening system and heavy duty tripod! I love that guy. (Thank you darling! XOXO)

Hope you enjoy it....had to speed it up x4 in order to keep it under 10 minutes, but you'll get the idea!

Don't forget to subscribe to the new Kellie Lynn Art YouTube Channel - More demo paintings to come!
