2019 Alcohol Ink Fall Conference Details

Sometimes you just go with the flow....My Fall Wreath looks more like spring...does that mean I get to skip winter this year!

This Floral Wreath is my presentation for this years 2019 Alcohol Ink Fall conference in late October. Right now there is an Early Bird special running for  New Members!
We will do a few practice sessions to create some fun and interesting shaped flowers and leaves.
Plus we'll be trying out some layers using a water-based Bombay ink along with Ranger Alcohol inks. You can get some really fun and interesting glazes using this method.

We also added some fun vines using Micro pens and gel pens on top of the inks for fillers.

I've been a founder and contributor with these lovely group of women over the years and these conferences are so much fun and full of amazing presentations.

I can't wait and hope you can join us!

Alcohol Ink and Resin Jewelry - Violet Flower Bracelet

I had a request for a commission pair of earrings from a client. This was a gift and the person loves flowers, especially anything purple, and they really wanted a violet or pansy.
I video taped most of my process not on the earrings but on the single bracelet. You can watch it on my Youtube Channel. I'll be posting a link to the video below.

I am always up for the challenge and once I got started it was fun to expand on the original plan.
It took a few tries to get the shape down with the resin and get a feel for how the inks would move with and without heat. I worked with Snow Cap Alcohol Ink to start for the base. It's a mixative and I added it to the Clear Art Resin to tint it.

I found these lovely little Adjustable Bracelets online and they had just arrived, so I made a few of these. I'll be posting a few more as the first 2 batches have sold. You will be able to find them in my etsy shop soon.

I also found these cute little charms that I'm thinking on adding to my next batch of bracelet!
They have all kind of little options. This pack of 100 had butterflies, lots of sea themed charms like mermaids, shells, suns, elephants, owls, keys and more.

I also wanted to share the great little starter Jewelry Kit that has a lot of what I needed to start making simple jewelry pieces.

Alcohol Ink Play with Ranger Inks

Demo Painting: Ranger Alcohol Ink on Yupo
only using 1 color "Slate" and a little doodling!
I'll post the Supply Links Below.

This week started my Adult Education Courses, which I absolutely LOVE to teach.
Many students are new to Alcohol Inks and the concept of Play. My new course coming up is just about that. It's all about air.  I'll be sharing a coupon via email when it goes LIVE, so make sure to sign up for the email HERE.

This weeks course was held at Gray Adult Education and we played with A straw. It was so exciting to see my students faces as they began. Although it's hard to let go...they did (but not at the beginning).

Look at this gorgeous piece by my student Brenda! ❤️ I was so excited to watch her create this. The joy in her face was priceless.

Another gorgeous piece I wanted to share with you from my newest student Jean! She was a bit unsure when the whole thing started but just signed up for another class!

So let your painting take you in a direction, it has a lot of rewards. FUN AND FREE!

Now go play - be a kid again. No preconceived ideas.

Here's all you need to get started:

Straw
91% Isopropyl Alcohol
Black Sharpie
