Happy February my creative loves!

Guess what....I am in prep mode for spring already! If you can believe it, for the first time evah (Maine accent), I have cute little tomato and cucumber seeds already started in little pots, and they have a little seedling already (so excited)!

Who's dreaming of summer days (as I sit here with this winter hat)? 

I've been on a poppy kick, one of my favorite summer flowers that I can't grow by the way. So if you can't grow them, paint them right!  I'm excited to share with you that  I have a New Watercolor Poppy Class in the works!

More poppies today - still on a color splat kick.

Love the movement of them.

My hubby a number of my favorite chocolates for Christmas, so I snapped

some pictures today to see if I could find some inspiration. I think I'm going with this one as a challenge, but not completely convinced on painting words and tin foil.

Thirty Painting in 30 Days - Day 16 "poppies" I'm watching many episodes of Super Natural on Netflix while painting my daily painting. Waiting for the Steelers to play some football!

 "More On The Way"

6x6" Oil Deep Edge Cotton Stretched Canvas

I think I'm in love with the larger brush strokes and using only one brush!  I found these little mini 6x6" Deep Edge Canvas in my "Art Supply" closet, or my outside porch area. It's the little back porch that has the best view of the back yard and the water view, yet it's turned into my "stash" area for the winter.

That will change once the warmer weather comes, because we plan to finish that room off and make it into a "nice" charming/cozy area to drink our morning coffee and stare blissfully at the beautiful view we own, and yes I mean we "OWN" ....as in Mortgage Free!

Having no mortgage and a simplified home allows me to do what I love everyday! I am so lucky to have the support of my wonderful family and friends, and of course none of this would be possible if it wasn't for my collectors!

My inspiration:

 My best friend has beautiful gardens here in Brunswick Maine and she had Poppies galore. She shared some with me but unfortunately my lack of a green thumb prevailed and they didn't come back...so sad.

Hope you enjoy my interpretation of them!
