Free Demo on Youtube - Acrylic Painting Busy Bee

Here's a painting I recently did for a fundraiser. Since I don't have an acrylic course set up online yet I was curious if there was some interest out there for some?

I would love to have you follow along and paint with me. I've added some text for you to follow along, and some music, but feel free to turn it off or down if you feel it distracts you. Some parts have been sped up as not to bore you with repetitive strokes, but I think you'll get the idea!

FREE Demo (Link Below - oh and Don't forget to click the SUBSCRIBE button)!

I'll cover all the materials in the video and I've added a Material List with links for you below. Remember feel free to choose your own color pallet, and if you have other acrylic paints, brushes, or smaller canvas those will work.

Creating the petals to the flowers is easier than you may think. You can see that my base is painted in with purples but when I add the white see how the brush strokes change down in the front going horizontal instead of vertical. That will give the appearance of your petals turning upwards.

Here is what you'll need to get started.

Busy Bee Acrylic Painting Materials:

  • Brushes - Large Flat 1" and Small Flat 1/4" plus a small round size 3 detail brush with a point.
  • Acrylic Paints - Colors Purple, White, Black, and Yellow.
  • Easel - optional (I worked with a flat canvas).
  • Mixing Tray or  paper plate for paints
  • 1 container for water to clean brushes
  • Paper Towels
  • Gloves
  • Apron

Sign up for my Email Newsletter for Coupons and up to date information on New Classes!
I would love for you to say Hello On Facebook or Instagram and post your Painting on Social Media using #kcfacourse  (So all students can see your work).

Enjoy and most of all HAVE FUN!

We'll be adding this one as a scene for our future group choices so if you are interested in holding a Company Team Building Event or Fundraiser and live in Midcoast Maine please send me a note!

This painting is done with Acrylics on a 16x20" canvas (Affiliate Link) with a 1" gallery wrap.
I"m working on a pineapple next and if you have some ideas you would like to see, please share them with me!

Here are some recent reviews from  ART STUDENTS:
★★★★★ "EASY TO FOLLOW"
I have been a Bob Ross certified instructor for 26 years and I have taught in various venues. Kelly is very clear in her instructions and she makes it easy to follow what she is doing. The class is simple enough for beginners and yet she gives the student plenty of room for creating a little on their own. The instruction on the supplies was also clear and easy to follow.
~Cherly M.
★★★★★ "ENJOYED"
"I enjoyed doing this this painting. I am new to watercolor. Was able to follow, having to go back occasionally. Will probably do this painting several times just for the practice. I contacted the Kellie Chasse sight because of interest in alcohol oil painting. So will be an active student for awhile to come. Thank you for a great beginning!!"
~Kathleen F.
★★★★★ "BIG HELP"
"Because everything was explained so simply, and Kellie's painting in real time was a very big help. I intend to take more of her courses in the future."
~Jill B.

Trying Out New Fluid Pouring Techniques

Back to my abstract side, this is my favorite type of creative painting I get to let loose!
Here I'm trying out a new technique using acrylic paints.

This is a fluid pour. I mixed up the colors of paint in a cup, added some acrylic medium and a little water - sorry no exact measurements (I'm like this when I bake too). Once the colors are poured I added some more layers of color and using Isoproply alcohol in a spray bottle to create more texture. I'm waiting for them to dry at the moment.

These are all on a size 8x8" clayboard.

I will decide if they need a coat of resin on top.

I love the cells an lace affects I created by playing with different weights of paints and
other additives.

What A Hoot - ing Good Time Painting With Kids!

I had the honor of Painting and instructing this week during school vacation with the Town of Gray-Parks & Recreation for a second time! We painted these adorable yellow owls with Acrylics on a 16x20" Canvas. Each painting has it's own unique and special feel - LOVE THEM!

Such an amazing group of kids, very polite, really great listeners, and terrific artists to boot. I can remember how hard it was for me at that young age to focus, so for them to focus on my Art instructions for almost 2 hours, wow - they did and incredible job!!!

The kids are a HOOT and they told me many fun facts about owls - they even did an owl clay craft that morning before I got there in preparation, I wish I had taken a picture.

Thank you all for having me back! I'm looking forward to painting again with you all.

Keep Painting ~

Mini Paintings HOW FUN!

My mother had a number of 2.5 x3.5" stretched canvas in her basement just hanging around so when she heard I was planning on doing some holiday craft fairs this season she asked if I wanted them! Um, YEAH! Thanks Mom!

Had a hard time not getting paint all over me though....bet it was funny to watch me paint them. Little buggers are hard to hold on to and paint at the same time. Really need to get myself one of those easels that lock the canvas in.

Still digging painting the sides!
